About Makassar

Makassar is the provincial capital of South Sulawesi. It is a city with a population of about 1.7 million people. Since the time of colonial era, Makassar is the point of growing economic, cultural and political rights for Indonesia and became one of the central points of growing civilization of Indonesia, especially for Eastern Indonesia region.
As the “gateway” areas of Eastern Indonesia Makassar has a strategic role as the hub of transportation by land, sea and air. Makassar has become a food distribution center, also a barometer of national food security, because since long time ago South Sulawesi is central to growth of national staple food outside of Java. As one of the centers of civilization in Indonesia, Makassar has adequate infrastructure and facilities. A lot of people from home and abroad visited the city of Makassar because the city beautiful, convenient location, there are many cultural attractions and nature that is so amazing.
The city of Makassar can be accessed by a two-hour flight from Jakarta’s International Airport, or an hour from Bali’s International Airport. There are hundreds of flights to and from Jakarta every day. Makassar is a city with a high security index in Indonesia.
